Empowering Social Entrepreneurs via Design

How might we design social entrepreneurship? IDK was invited by Social Enterprise Summit 2019 to co-organise a half-day workshop late last month, to cultivate an innovation mindset for social enterprise leaders, and co-create inclusive solutions in social dimensions, from a sustainable business point of view.

Inspired by the power of design thinking and good design through various case studies, over 50 participants worked in groups to solve a design challenge based on local social issues. Supported with IDK’s learning tools, participants were able to co-create human-centric social enterprise concepts for different user groups by uncovering users’ pain points, defining the root cause of problems and coming up with innovative ways to engage and empower people in need.
